Choosing the right brooder
In the past, choosing the right animal brooder was much easier. There really weren't so many options as there are today and there certainly wasn't so much to read through to make sure you were getting a quality product that would last multiple litters and lots of puppies, kittens, chicks, raccoons, cubs, fawns, calves, etc.
We hope these bullet points below will help you make the right choice for your new brooder. As always, we are here to help you with any questions you have.
Key Factors to Consider
- Temperature & humidity control - A brooder with consistent temperature and humidity ensures the animals inside are warm and comfortable. Look for digital thermostats with precise temperature and humidity reading, especially for fragile or newborn animals.
- Ventilation - Proper airflow prevents respiratory issues and keeps the environment regulated, which is crucial for delicate animals.
- Size and Capacity - Chose a brooder that is fit for your animals' size. Too small and it'll be uncomfortable for the animals. Our brooders are made for 1-8 puppies at a time, our ICU's can fit more puppies but they're more purpose driven for critical care animals.
- Ease of Cleaning - A brooder needs to be cleaned to prevent disease. Removable trays, easy-access designs, and washable durable parts make cleaning less of a hassle and help keep your animals healthy.
- Additional features - Ease of repair and warranty - This is where the Pet Brooder shines, it's been around for 4 generations now and is extremely easy to fix and keep up with. Parts will always be available and the whole thing can be fixed with only a Phillips head screwdriver!
